I received an invitation to participate in a fashion show on Saturday April 6th in York, PA!
Other designers and media socialites from America's Next Top Model, Bad Girls Club in Atlanta, Real Housewives of Atlanta, and other television shows and magazines will also be in attendance. At the end of the runway there will be press and media. So needless to say I was SUPER excited that someone invited little ole me to show something of my collection also.
I admit that I am a hot mess with nerves right now.
I need to figure out what pieces to show, accessories, shoes, song choice, bio, and model selections.
So here's where I need your help. As an incentive I'm giving away my ARC of The Madman's Daughter if you're a US resident or book of choice (Under $10.00) from TBD.
The event will be to raise funds for the Keystone Wounded Warriors (www.keystonewarriors.com) They are a nonprofit group in PA that help injured military members that have ties to the PA area. 100% of the proceeds are going to them. The group will also be in attendance along with several wounded warriors.

ReplyDeleteI think you should make something new with cutouts in either the Orange-Red or Green-Blue family. Again these colors are seen everywhere in the runway. Accessorize it with metallics and you're very in style!

ReplyDeleteThere are two 'themes' or ideas that spring to mind when i looked through your collection...one is an 'Alice in Wonderland' type theme. So bold prints and patterns, black & white check, puffy skirts and ruffles. The image of the two models in the wood was a good image to connect to this theme.
For this i would choose music such as Evanescence or something by Ellie Goulding (i.e Starry-Eyed) which is a bit different and unexpected, like your unique collection?
The second theme/ idea was a Cinderella shabby/shique, with your lovely ballgowns and dresses, mixed with the shorter more unusual dresses. A lot of pink and origonal cuts, with music such as Diamonds by Rhianna - something quite special and glamorous?
I love your ideas and think you could expand on them if you used a theme to base it on. Hope the above may help??

And with regards to making something new, I love Lucinda's idea for Alice in Wonderland theme line. You have such a great eye for unique patterns and color combinations, and something more avant-garde in that style would be amazing!

Avant-garde! I'll take that challenge. That's what I was going for with look two in the slideshow on the side bar. Structured pieces on the runway can be tricky.

ReplyDeleteI really like the 'Show Your Legs Off' section. They're really cool. (: I think that you should try with different colors, because you mainly have different shades of purple (other than the gray, white, black).
I can't come to the show. :( It'll take too long to travel there, and I have classes on Saturday.
I like the one with the two girls who I think are twins the best. I love the outfits and the thigh high stockings are always hot. The one with the vale is really interesting too.

If you wanted to add something to your collection I would suggest making something in a color which completely contrasts the purple since most of your collection is purple, pinks and some blues. Maybe something with a bright green. Or else you can add a pop of color in the accessories and make-up if you wish. However, I think that overall you have a great collection with many nice pieces
As far as music goes, it all depends on the theme you wish for your runway. Unfortunately, I don't live in the US so I can't come to the show
