“Sometimes there is a single moment that changes your life forever.”
Hadie Swinton is giving up on boys.
After a disastrous relationship, she is convinced that all males are the same—arrogant, self-assured, and complete jerks.
Lincoln Bracks is giving up on his old life.
After moving to a new town to escape the problems plaguing him, he is set against ever getting close to anyone again.
When Hadie and Lincoln’s worlds collide, their intrigue for one another leads them to open up to each other against their better judgment. Despite the attraction that is pulling them together, insecurities, secrets, and shattered hopes stand in the way of them ever being together.
At a time when darkness consumes their lives, Hadie and Lincoln learn that hope and love can still be found in the most unlikely place.
*Recommended for mature readers aged 17+ due to language and sexual content
**This is the second book in the With Me series but can be read as a stand-alone.
Komal: The female lead in Falling for Hadie, Hadie Swinton doesn’t do risqué—
Hadie: Hold on a second! That’s a bit unfair! I have been plenty risqué in the past! Once, I wore this magenta colored sweater with a heart on it. Pretty daring, if I do say so myself.
Komal: Only you would associate a sweater with the word “daring”. What I meant to say was that you’re not really a fishnets and short skirts kinda girl. You play it safe. You like your sweaters and your jeans.
Hadie: They’re so comfortable, though!
Komal: Comfortable is good. A little boring, but still good. There’s this instance in the book where you’re trying to find an outfit to wear to a field party. Remember how that turned out?
Hadie: *groans* I don’t want to remember, but you’re going to remind me, aren’t you?
I studied my clothes in disdain. Most of my clothes were from junior year and consisted mainly of sensible sweaters. Okay, so my sense of style kind of lacked style, but there had to be something semi-decent I could wear tonight.
Chewing on the inside of my cheek, I pulled out a pair of tight, black jeans and a baby blue sweater. This was my favorite go-to outfit.
Komal: Do I even want to know WHY most of your clothes are from junior year?
Hadie: Hey! It’s because I hit my peak height in junior year. I haven’t grown since then!
Komal: See, even you admit that you lack style.
Hadie: It’s frustrating sometimes! Do you think I should expand beyond sweater wearing?
Komal: Maybe. You know what? I keep thinking back to that day that Lincoln first saw you. Do you remember what you were wearing?
Hadie: Not really, but let me take a guess. A sweater?
She’d also spilled the coffee all down the front of her sweater, staining the light blue fabric.
Komal: I think that coffee stain made the sweater a little more interesting.
Hadie: *covers head in hands* I really am boring and safe, just like Lincoln said.
Komal: Wait just a second. There was one instance where you DID wear something a bit more risqué. At the end of the book when you were at—
Hadie: Whoa! Hold it right there! Spoilers! Spoilers! Don’t you know that we book junkies don’t like spoilers?
There were audible gasps as everyone gaped at me standing there in the chill November day wearing a pair of denim shorts and a red t-shirt.
Komal: That outfit is pretty unusual for you. What made you change your wardrobe so dramatically?
Hadie: I think sometimes you have to step outside of the box and try something different. You can’t always be stuck doing the same thing over and over again. Change is okay, and sometimes necessary.
Komal: Did someone important tell you that?
Hadie: Yes. Someone very important.
About the Author
Komal Kant is the author of IMPOSSIBLE, FALLING FOR HADIE, and the upcoming WRONG SIDE OF TOWN. She currently lives in Sydney, but wishes she lived all over the world. You can tell she is weird because her days are filled with talking to imaginary characters and trying to justify choosing Stefan over Damon.Komal talks too much, laughs too loud, sings out-of-tune, and generally says inappropriate things at appropriate times. She is not-in-a-creepy-way obsessed with blood and gore, so The Walking Dead is probably her favourite show at the moment. She is overly enthusiastic about video games, Spiderman, Batman films, Byronic heroes, horror movies, baking, and pretty shoes.
