Hi, everyone. I’m Jodi Marshall. Yes, that Jodi Marshall. The one descended from Medusa. And, yes, my blood really is poisonous to humans, so you might not want to get too close. Anyway, I’m talking about fashion today. My style to be exact. So what does a teenage necromancer wear? Anything that hides blood and dirt easily. I raise a lot of corpses, which means I have to rebury them. So clothes that are suitable for digging are a must.
With my blood mixing all the time, I have a tendency to get really hot, and while I would probably be more comfortable in cooler clothes, I can actually burn people if they touch me when I’m mixing my blood, so I try to keep covered to avoid hurting people. I also like to have a lot of Band-Aids handy. You can’t be too careful when your blood is as powerful as mine. Even if I’m not around humans, spilling my blood can lead to bad things—like raising any dead thing I come in contact with.
Every girl loves to accessorize, and my favorite piece of jewelry has to be Medusa’s locket. While the name bloodstone doesn’t sound pretty, the reddish green stone is actually really beautiful. Also, wearing the locket makes me feel close to Medusa and reminds me of the power I possess.
But my absolute favorite item of clothing is Alex’s long-sleeved t-shirt I sleep in at night. Besides being comfortable, it smells like Alex. So no matter how cold it gets at night, the shirt always keeps meAbout the Novel:

Jodi knows that any slip-ups made by the Ophi--a special group of necromancers born under the 13th sign of the zodiac--will fall on her shoulders... and that Hades is just waiting for them to screw up so he can wipe out the Ophi line.
Unfortunately, Jodi has only convinced one Ophi to join her school: A hot guy named Chase who jeopardizes her relationship with Alex. Jodi loves Alex, but Chase can enhance her powers with just a touch—making her stronger than any Ophi has ever been.
Her mixed emotions send her powers surging out of control, and the dead start rising without her conscious summoning—exactly what Hades doesn't want! If she chooses Alex over Chase, she may lose the battle to Hades, leading the Ophi race to extinction. If she chooses Chase, she might be able to stop Hades for good… but lose everything else.
Jodi needs to figure things out fast--because death is stalking her at every turn.
