Mila 2.0 is the first book in an electrifying sci-fi thriller series about a teenage girl who discovers that she is an experiment in artificial intelligence.
Mila was never meant to learn the truth about her identity. She was a girl living with her mother in a small Minnesota town. She was supposed to forget her past—that she was built in a secret computer science lab and programmed to do things real people would never do.
Now she has no choice but to run—from the dangerous operatives who want her terminated because she knows too much and from a mysterious group that wants to capture her alive and unlock her advanced technology. However, what Mila’s becoming is beyond anyone’s imagination, including her own, and it just might save her life.
Mila 2.0 is Debra Driza’s bold debut and the first book in a Bourne Identity-style trilogy that combines heart-pounding action with a riveting exploration of what it really means to be human. Fans of I Am Number Four will love Mila for who she is and what she longs to be—and a cliffhanger ending will leave them breathlessly awaiting the sequel
LOVED LOVED LOVED this novel! I have no Idea how to express how much I LOVE this novel.
I walked into Mila 2.0 Blindly. I had seen the cover and fell in love instantly. I decided not to read any reviews or the synopsis on it just because sometimes those two things alone will dissuade me from a book. So I literally had no Idea what it was about and no expectations.
OMG, Debra Driza BLEW my mind.
If you read Mila: Origins The Fire (Free Novella download < ----------- Amazon free download) you Learn that Mila's house is on fire. And she is fighting to escape. Its a short teaser but you get a little back story. Anyways Fast forward to Mila 2.0 we learn that Mila loses her dad in the fire. Her mom uproots her from Philly to Clearwater, Minnesota. Trying to be a normal teenager in a new town with new friends can be hard, especially when you have a past you can't really remember and a mom who has distanced herself from you. Mila gets in an accident (caused by her psycho best friend Kaylee) and flies out of the bed of a truck. She gets this nasty injury and in that instant Mila's life kind of falls to pieces and she learns That nothing is what it seems. She is living in a world of deceit. Mila 2.0 is full of Kick ass action scenes, emotion, and even some romance. Everything you would want in a YA book is here. Driza does an excellent job with character development. I felt a real connection with Mila I was able to relate with her and feel with her. I had genuine emotions while reading. Although this is a sci-fi novel it wasn't like it was so unrealistic you couldn't see it happening in real life. I could totally see the Government trying to pull something like a Mila 2.0 off.
