With his tight leather pants and a sharp edge that makes him dangerous, Jet Keller is every girl’s rock and roll fantasy. But Ayden Cross is done walking on the wild side with bad boys. She doesn’t want to give in to the heat she sees in Jet’s dark, haunted eyes. She’s afraid of getting burned from the sparks of their spontaneous combustion, even as his touch sets her on fire.
Jet can’t resist the Southern Belle with mile-long legs in cowboy boots who defies his every expectation. Yet the closer he feels to Ayden, the less he seems to know her. While he’s tempted to get under her skin and undo her in every way, he knows firsthand what happens to two people with very different ideas about relationships.
Will the blaze burn into an enduring love. . . or will it consume their dreams and turn them to ashes?

Jay Crownover has made her way onto my favorite list with just the 1st book of this series.

Jet book#2 in the series is focused on the chemistry between Ayden and Jet. Ayden left everything behind including the old Ayden. She does not wish to tell any of her new Denver friends about her past. Unfortunately for Ayden the past has a way of coming after you, in this story her past comes for her by way of her older brother Asa. Asa is a bad boy who can charm anyone and con his way anywhere. But now Asa messed with the wrong guys and needs his sister Ayden to bail him out like all the times before.

Jet and Ayden have been attracted to one another since the moment they meet. Ayden made a play for Jet a year ago and was embarrassed and ashamed when he turned her down. Jet was kicking himself for that but he knew that Ayden was special and he knew there would be no going back once he crossed that line. They had to many friends in common and were thrown together all the time so they had to keep it on a friend level and non-sexual.

Now Jet is roommates with Cora and Ayden. Shaw left to move in with her boyfriend Rule and his best friend Nash which had Jet taking Shaw's old room at Cora's place. The girls like having him there, Jet makes them feel safe after Shaw was attacked by her ex.  Neither Cora nor Ayden wanted a stranger to move in. The only problem is that Jet and Ayden are still highly attracted to one another. Sparks fly when Jet can no longer take watching Ayden with her boyfriend "Sweater Vests" he gets heated, jealous and does the one thing he can not and does not want to take back.......a kiss. A kiss that lights them both on fire.

Ayden wants Jet with every fire that burns inside of her but she knows that he is not on the future plans that she has made for herself. She needs security, a good future, and stable husband material not a lead singer in a local metal band.

Ayden has trouble with her past and makes some really bad choices when it comes to Jet. Jet has as much family drama as Ayden. Ayden gets tangled in a web of secrets and has to come clean to the ones who love her even if it means they will judge her and Jet might not love her anymore after he finds out what kind of person Ayden used to be.

This is a great series about finding love in unexpected places and warm and lasting friendships. The group dynamics are awesome and you fall in love with each character. I have no doubt that this series will be a success. I am looking forward to "Rome" Book #3 to be out. It indicates January 2014 on Jay's website. I will keep my eyes posted.

RATING: 5 STARS
