In this dramatic new novella from the New York Times bestselling author of Torn and Connected, two people discover that even the truest love has ups and downs…
Jagger Kennedy never went looking for fame, he just fell into it. After scoring a major modeling contract, his clean-cut good looks and charm catapulted his career. But when his actress girlfriend breaks his heart, he moves to L.A. to try his hand at acting. He needs to make a change, and the last thing he’s looking for is love…
Aerie Daniels is a woman in control … until she meets Jagger. Her surprising connection with him leaves her stunned, and it’s unlike anything she’s ever felt. But just when she lets her walls fall, she makes a startling discovery about him that breaks her fragile heart into a million pieces.
To keep from losing the one woman he can’t bear to be without, Jagger is willing to give up anything—including his career. But even that might not be enough to regain Aerie’s shattered trust…

Aerie & Jagger’s Story

After her first love made her feel used, unappreciated, unloved and cheated on her Aerie has had no real connection to men. Aerie goes through the motions of dating and even has sexual encounters. But none of that really gets her heart pumping. Aerie feels no connection to these men.

Jagger is River’s cousin. He just moved here and broke up with his selfish and cheating girlfriend. He is a model and interested in acting. His audition is for the part of Ian (Aerie’s uncle) in a movie that is being made about the musician life.

Aerie & Jagger’s first encounter is so cute. The little flirtation between the two characters is a perfect combination of temptation, what-ifs, and maybe’s. After this encounter Jagger has a nickname for Aerie, ALICE…..

After finding out that Jagger is the guy from the pastry shop and all of the coincidences of Jagger living for River and Dahlia, being River’s cousin, and the guy to play her uncle in his movie her life is becoming unpredictable. Aerie is a creature of habit and she likes everything in its place. Jagger is shaking up her world and she is liking it.

Jagger is entranced with Aerie from the moment he saw her. They jump in to the relationship pretty fast but do not have too many ups and downs. They run into a bit of a problem when Jagger’s ex shows up to audition for the part of Ian’s love interest on the set of the movie. This leaves Aerie feeling like the rebound relationship and she tries to pull away and protect herself but Jagger is not letting her go. He loves her and does not care about the movie or anything else except making things right with his ALICE.

This story was a nice read. There was not a lot of stress in the relationship and it is a novella so it takes half the time to read. If you are a fan of the Connections series I would differently read this one. I’m sure it will help us tie it all together when Mended is released in June and Frayed is released in September.

My rating is only 2.5 stars because while the story was good I felt it was missing something.  I think had it been a longer story and not a novella it would have gotten at least a 3 STAR rating.

Happy Reading!
