Saint Ford has worked hard to achieve her childhood dream of becoming of nurse. Focused on her work and devoted to her patients, there’s no room for love. She doesn’t need a guy making waves in her calm, serene life—especially when he’s the unforgettable hottie who nearly destroyed her in high school. Dark, brooding Nash Donovan might not remember her or the terrible pain he caused. But he turned her world upside down . . . and now he’s trying to do it again.
Saint has no idea that Nash isn’t the cocky player he once was. Uncovering a devastating family secret has rocked his world, and now he’s struggling to figure out his future. He can’t be distracted by the pretty nurse he seems to meet everywhere. Still, he can’t ignore the sparks that fly between them—or how she seems so desperate to get away from him. But the funny, sweet, and drop-dead gorgeous Saint is far too amazing to give up on—especially since she’s the only thing in his life that seems to make sense.
When Nash discovers the truth about their past, he realizes he may have lost her heart before he could even fight for it. Now, Saint has to decide: is Nash worth risking herself for all over again?

In Rome (book#3) we met Saint a nurse in the ER that disliked Nash.  Nash remembered Saint from High School but did not have a clue why she disliked him.

Nash and Saint's story:
Saint was a little overweight, super smart, and super shy in high school. Her locker ended up next to Nash's and Nash always was nice to her and said hello.  Saint had a huge crush on Nash and got her heart broken. It was not really Nash's fault but Saint disliked him ever since it happened.

With Phil sick and in the hospital, Nash runs into Saint a lot more often then Saint cares for. After Nash tries to drown himself in alcohol and disappears into himself for about a week, Saint feels inclined to go to his apartment and see how he is. After answering the door very drunk and only in his boxers he unexpectedly kisses Saint. Saint leaves in a huff.

Saint can't believe that Nash kissed her, she can't believe it was the best kiss of her life, she can't believe she can't stop thinking about it, and she really can't believe that she wants to do it again.

Nash and Saint become closer and Saint tells him why she was so leary of him. He tries to make amends for his past self in order to gain Saint's trust but he realizes that she needs to let go of the past and love herself before a relationship will work for them. Nash has fallen for her, there is no doubt in his mind but convincing Saint of that is a different story. Saint wants to trust Nash with her heart but has a serious issue with letting things go.

After a misunderstanding involving Royal, Nash's super sexy neighbor, Saint flees for a couple days to get her head on straight and figure out what she really wants out of life.

Phil takes a turn for the worst and Saint rushing home to help Nash through the hard time. She knows that no matter what is going on with them right now Nash needs her help.

Nash is stressed with a new shop opening, hiring people, construction, Saint's hangups, Phil's illness, he does not know which end is up.  This is why he needs Saint she will ground him and help him breath through it.  They are good together and as a reader you want them to work.

Other things we get to see in this part of the series are Cora and Rome's baby girl is born, we met Royal the super sexy cop that lives next door to Nash, we meet Salem the pinup model interviewing for the new manager position in the new tattoo shop.

Good story the series is flowing nicely.....can't wait for Book#5 Rowdy.

Happy Reading!

  1. Hey Kami, I've been following your reviews on this series! I'm curious to know how did you discover the Marked Men series?

  2. On Goodreads I friended Kelly. We don't know each other in Real Life but we have a lot of books in common. As we were exchanging emails and skimming through each others reads I saw Rule (Book #1) in the Marked Men series. She does not have reviews but she told me that it was a pretty good read and that there were more to come in the series so I gave it a shot. I absolutely loved the characters. The entire series revolves around the family and friends: Rule & Rome are brothers, Nash is Rules best friend and they work in a tattoo shop together that Nash's Uncle owns, Rule had a twin brother Remy who they speak about a lot but he died so he is spoken about in past tense. Jet is another friend of all the guys and is in a band but they are all really close friends. Rowdy is the next book to come out in this series and he works in the tattoo shop with Nash & Rule. The girls all play a big part too, I mean they are romance books with the bad boy twist. It's a pretty good series nothing to heavy just a nice read.
