Throttle Me (Men of Inked - Book #1)
by Chelle Bliss
Kindle Edition, 211 Pages
Suzy’s a control freak and has her life mapped out - work hard, find a man with a stable job, and live happily ever after. She’s content with the status quo, but her plan comes to a screeching halt when he enters her life and turns it upside down.
City gave up on love when his heart was crushed in college, preferring to be the typical bachelor. He spends his nights hopping from one bed to another and his days working at his family tattoo shop, Inked. A chance encounter on a dark road makes him question what he had sworn off forever – a relationship.
A night of passion and lust causes them to question everything. Is City the knight in shining armor to the damsel in distress? Can their relationship survive when a fantasy falls apart and a secret comes out that changes everything?
Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual situations, graphic language, and material that some readers may find objectionable.
Suzy McCarthy is math teacher with OCD and a bit of a control freak.
Joseph Gallo/City is a tattoo artist who rides a motorcycle.
Two completely different people whose lives would never intersect, unless FATE had a plan.
Suzy finds herself at 2:00 in the morning with a broken down car and a dead cell phone on a stretch of road that has very little traffic. Suzy is about to start her long walk in her new and sexy but not comfortable stiletto's when a motorcycle pulls up and City comes into her life. He looks sexy and dangerous. He looks like sin and she instantly wants to lick every part of him. What is she thinking...... Suzy cannot believe she is having these thoughts of a complete stranger. Suzy is shocked that she is actually climbing on the back of City's motorcycle. Her first bike ride with a complete stranger. But what is a girl to do. Suzy is picturing all kinds of scenarios from City strangling her and being a serial killer to City having crazy wild sex with her. She keeps asking "What the heck is wrong with me?".
City knows the moment he sees Suzy stranded on the road that he must have her. After Suzy accepts a ride from City they go to the Neon Bar a couple miles away so Suzy can wait for a tow truck but after being with City for a short time she knows she wants to go home with him and hopes that City is thinking the same thing.
Suzy has a check list for the men she dates and City is so not the right guy. Her head tells her to stop, her heart tells her to retreat before she falls in to deep but her body reacts to City like no other man before and tells her to just GO FOR IT. City has to prove he is worthy of Suzy's affection but the question is, can Suzy except City the way he is and not care so much about her list. Every man Suzy has ever been with is boring and she has no desire to take it to the next level much less the next date but City is different and she likes that City is controlling and overbearing.
City likes her dirty thoughts and her bad girl ways in the bedroom. He also likes her sweet and innocent with these dirty, sexy fantasies.
They take their relationship to the next level as Suzy tries to conconquer her fears and her dang list. When City tries to make one of Suzy's crazy sex fantasies come true the couple runs into a bit of a snag. Now Suzy is hurt, scared and is looking to City to make her feel better. City feels responsible for Suzy getting hurt. They must overcome this setback and move forward together.
I like this relationship and that the two characters are opposites in so many ways. It shows that opposites can fit perfectly together and work. Love works in strange ways and it is not always clear at first but can sneak up on you.
I never really understand the friendships that women have with each other where they call each other derogatory names but it seems to be very common. Except for that part of the relationship I really like Sophia. Sophia is more outgoing and open than Suzy and I think that helps their friendship. I don't understand the relationship that Kayden, Sophia and Suzy have. I am going to read "Kayden: The Past" and then "Untangle Me" in the Love at Last series to see what I messed. I am thinking that these 2 books should be read first to fully understand the depth of the 3 character's relationship.
