Jeanie loves a New Species and is willing to pay for that love with pain, tears and heartbreak. She’ll do anything to keep 710 alive but she never wants him to know how she suffered for him. He’s the reason for her mission in life—freeing others like him.
True has a new life working with the NSO to rescue his people. A good life, until he encounters a dying woman—the female who betrayed him. True should feel gratified that she’s finally going to pay for her crimes, but she claims to be a victim too. He is still irresistibly drawn to the pretty little human who touched his heart and made him want her. When he clasps her hand to offer comfort, his instincts kick in and True will fight everyone to protect her.

Jeanie only wants to protect New Species and is willing to put herself in danger to help free them.Jeanine has fallen in love with 710 but when his life is threatened she agrees to a drug testing on herself to save him. Jeanine never thought she would ever see 710 again and if she does she never wants him to know what she did to save his life. When Jeanine started working at Drackwood she had no idea they had the New Species. Once she found out this information she immediately called the NSO hotline to information them. She was contacted back from Agent Brice and started working with Brice to help free New Species in Drackwood and after Drackwood Jeanine was assigned a new location to help with the extraction of New Species.

True has started working with the Task Force and the NSO to help rescue his people. But on this mission to recover New Species he comes face to face with Jeanine Shiver a female who betrayed him. True is happy that she will now pay for her crime but he can't help but still have that pull towards her and he still cannot figure out way she was so kind to him when everyone else was just awful.

Jeanine tells NSO that she has been working with an agent on the outside and that this was part of her mission to help free the New Species. Jeanine finds out that Agent Brice is not real and she could have had the NSO free their people from the beginning. Jeanine is furious, now she is in trouble and might service time for a crime she was trying to prevent and Agent Brice has disappeared.  Jeanine swears that she is a victim in all of this too and True starts to believe her. All the New Species that she helped free come to her defense to help keep her out of Fuller.  Now Jeanine must find out who Agent Brice really is in order to prove her innocence and put him behind bars.

True does not have a lot of experience with the opposite sex. He feels other New Species males maybe better lovers than he is. But True wants Jeanine and there is no denying that Jeanine is still in love with him and wants him as well. But when 2 other males express their interest in his female tempers get out of control.

Together True and Jeanine must find out the truth. The NSO believe Jeanine as the story puzzle pieces start to fit together and everyone starts to jump in the ring to help protect Jeanine and find out the truth behind Agent Brice.

Once Agent Brice is identified, Jeanine is in more danger than they ever thought possible. They must get answers from Agent Brice as to the whereabouts of any other facilities or of any more New Species. They learn that Agent Brice has a location of a Gift Female but he won't give it up. Darkness is working on it so we know he can torture it out of him, no problem.

True and Jeanine have a tough go with their relationship in the beginning. Both are under stress from finding Agent Brice and trying to keep Jeanine safe from outsiders and other New Species who don't think she belongs at Homeland. I like how True and Jeanine work through these problems and how True always pushes Jeanine to tell him what's wrong or worrying her. This is great communication.

I am intrigued by Darkness and can't wait to read the next book in the series that will focus on Darkness. There is no release date as of yet.

Rating: 3 STARS

Happy Reading!
